Ringing in the New Year
Last year, the Bethlehem Foundation provided a grant to our music ministry designed to boost our handbell ensembles with a set of ChoirChimes to complement our handbells. These hand chimes made their debut in Minneapolis during the prelude on Sunday, Jan. 26, and you can watch and listen on YouTube – the ensemble uses the chimes at the end. They have extended octaves that let the handbell ensembles play a wider range of music. They have a beautiful and distinctive sound.
“Much of the handbell ministry here at Bethlehem exists because of the generosity of the Foundation,” says Director of Music and Organist Mark Paisar. “Without your support during the early stages of this ensemble back in 2016 and 2017, we would not have been able to expand the group as quickly as we did during those early years.”
We’ll share updates on an upgrade to the organ at the Minneapolis campus soon, and promise it will be a multi-sensory experience!
